With this essay I am beginning a new series of posts on the virtues. I am prompted to do so from my experience of writing Secular Truth and Morality: Being Virtuous, Happy, and At Peace Without God and Religion. Motivation to do so also comes from my current reading of Andre Comte-Sponville's A Small Treatise on the Great Virtues.
For now I will postpone discussing the meaning of "virtue" in the evolution of Humakind, and commenting on "honesty" as discussed in the following. More soon....
