The Virtues - Is Honesty In Decline?

With this essay I am beginning a new series of posts on the virtues.  I am prompted to do so from my experience of writing Secular Truth and Morality:  Being Virtuous, Happy, and At Peace Without God and Religion.  Motivation to do so also comes from my current reading of Andre Comte-Sponville's A Small Treatise on the Great Virtues.

For now I will postpone discussing the meaning of "virtue" in the evolution of Humakind, and commenting on "honesty" as discussed in the following.  More soon....

Our Debt To The Greeks by Brendan Boyle, The Wall Street Journal, Bookshelf, July 13, 2012, a review of Pursuits of Reason: Six Ways of Life From Socrates to Plotinus by John M. Cooper (2012)
