The Virtues - Is Honesty In Decline?

With this essay I am beginning a new series of posts on the virtues.  I am prompted to do so from my experience of writing Secular Truth and Morality:  Being Virtuous, Happy, and At Peace Without God and Religion.  Motivation to do so also comes from my current reading of Andre Comte-Sponville's A Small Treatise on the Great Virtues.

For now I will postpone discussing the meaning of "virtue" in the evolution of Humakind, and commenting on "honesty" as discussed in the following.  More soon....
